In this era of rapid social and technological change leading to increasing life complexity and technological requirement, both subjective and objective judgements in daily life among persons in western society call for a balance  in which there are both reasoning and logical thinking capacity, and the ability of exploring own emotions as well.

 

Reasoning and logical thinking are necessary in order to allow society to discover the laws of universe and the space human lived, then taking advanging the information available to us. There are many contributions of such capacity with which the speaker concerned. On one hand, reasoning assist human explore the unknown territory, as physics, chemistry, biology and so forth. Depending on a series of natural phenomena, the scientists induced and deduced the specific thoeries and laws explaining what confused or perplex, thereby render human get out of ignorance and differetiate us form normal creature on on earth. By means of reasoning, as well as logical thinking, the glorious accomplishments, as the discovery of gravity,  the research of atoms, and the investigation of evolution, also lead human history to a greater stage, like a guiding.

 

On the other hand, reasoning acts not only as the impetus to science but motivate the advance of technology as well. Logical thinking is the suprior approach to convert or transfer the knowledge or ideas we already possessed----the theoretical results printed in books and the empirical experience achieved during work and life----to the power of designing, manufacturing and marketing. When it comes to the Ford motor company, a prestige automobile manufacturing company, the first contribution comes to one’s hand is, admittly, Henry Ford’s assembly-line-----an effective approach which speeded produce car significantly, and to the extent which sparked the whole mass manufacturing in twentieth century. All of these, obveriously, stemed from the founder, Henry Ford, reasoned from his observation and experience, thus making such a logical conclusions. Considering the precede two point, the education focus on nuturing students reasoning capacity is fundamentally understandable.

 

While we must emphsize on the development of students' capacity for reasoning and logical thinkink, at the same time we should be conscious about the emotional formation of teenagers, for the simple reason it is the very time for adolescent to touch the essence of world, response to the out-side world, shape their points about world, human and community. Without being approapritely instructed, the spirit of student will be corrupted and deteroiated by aggression, greed and so on, therefore, the reasoning ability gained in childhood might change into the evil tools to afflict others.

 

Nor can the researchers justify the use of chemistry-----once believed could result in curing various deseases , expanding human lift and balancing the equality in different locations------as so-called”chemical weapon” intended to suffer both hostile military and innocent citizen. Another vivid cast to demostrate this point involves the notorious leader during World War Two, Hitler, which direct the holocaust of Jews. As some reseachers believed, it is due to the absent of emotional education in his early life that in adulthood Hitler instruct such a tyranny genocide.

And that ignoring students’ emotion also gives rise to social problems as rampant gang violence, unprecedented indifferent relationship, and lifting juvenile delinquency. According, it is indispensable for human beings receive proper emotional education,including psyachology, philosophy and literaure.

 

In sum, while reasoning and logical thinking could bring more pragmatic and practical benefits and fruits to human immediately and effectively, the education exempt us from the possibility of aberrant behaveior, as well as distortion of spirit and emontions. In the final analysis, the reasoning promotes human history in a series of tangible inventions and methods, while emotional education guarantee we still in the philosophical orientation in more intangible process.
